The agrarian practice
Within that practice, one specialty sets the firm apart. Mexico's agrarian system is usually learned from the outside, as a statute consulted when a deal touches ejido land. At Terra Firma it is a core discipline: the assemblies, the parcels, the certificates, the Registro Agrario Nacional and the Agrarian Courts are everyday work, not an occasional referral.
That depth matters because close to half of Mexico's territory is, or once was, social land governed by its own statute, its own registry and its own courts, and it sits exactly where foreigners buy, build and invest. It is not the whole of what we do, but it is the layer that decides whether the rest of it stands on solid ground.
Terra firma is Latin for solid ground. We named the firm after the only thing worth standing on.

Gabriel Mendoza Gaytán
Law degree from ITESO, the Jesuit university of Guadalajara; graduate specializations and a Master's degree from Universidad Panamericana; continuing programs with ANADE and ESADE. A licensed Mexican attorney specializing in corporate advisory, agrarian law and doing business in Mexico for foreign companies and investors, he leads every matter himself and writes every article published under the firm's name.
Miguel Torres Rodríguez
Leads the firm's contentious practice: agrarian disputes before the Agrarian Courts, civil and family matters, and claims against the State, with postgraduate training in amparo and constitutional law. His team also runs the litigation-risk analysis behind every contract the firm drafts or reviews.
Lorenza Mendoza Gaytán
Expert translator authorized by the Supreme Court of Justice of Jalisco, with three decades of court-recognized practice and a background in administration and finance behind the legal and financial terminology. Every certified translation the firm delivers carries her seal.
Alexis Daniel Pulido Atilano
Supports the corporate, contractual and property work of the firm: registry research, due-diligence files, corporate documents and the follow-through that keeps a matter moving between the first conversation and the closing.
Fernanda Basulto
Runs the front desk and the firm's calendar, coordinates appointments and video calls, keeps files and correspondence in order, handles invoicing and payments, and follows up on filings before registries and authorities. She is the first voice you will hear from the firm and the person who keeps the office running on time.
Law clerks complete the office, together with a working network built over years: notarial offices we trust and local counsel in the regions where our clients buy and build.

How we work
Every deal in Mexico stands on the ground. We start there. An acquisition, an industrial site, a company, a home, before anything else, we verify the ground it will stand on: legally, registrally, literally. Then we build up. And everything we find, you get in plain English because our mission is bigger than any single file: Mexico, in plain English.
The source, not the story
We verify at the registries (RAN, Public Registry of Property, CONAGUA) never in the seller's folder. Findings in writing, with the legal basis cited article by article.
Flat fees, in writing, before we start
You know the cost before we begin. Litigation is quoted by stage. No open-ended hourly meters.

Sometimes our report says proceed with confidence; sometimes it says renegotiate. Either way, you decide with the full picture in front of you.
